Blister Blight is a story-rich 8-bit action-platformer that fuses classic "run and gun" side-scrolling gameplay with a branching story reminiscent of modern roleplaying games. With each level you play and boss you encounter, you will make decisions that permanently affect the outcomes of other characters and plot-lines. 

These levels can be played in any order, granting you the autonomy to chart your own course to one of several possible endings. No two paths will be exactly the same – surprises await the curious and challenges await the courageous!

As Blister Blight, you have the power of master mechanic fused with a robot assassin. With every trial you face, the decision is yours: do you use the Wrench of Wreckoning to reprogram enemies so they fight on your side? Or do you blast them away with the abilities you’ve gained by assimilating their essence?

As you play Blister Blight, you will receive e-mails from other characters, offering quests, providing criticism, or asking questions. You can check these at any time in your inventory menu, and select the reply you feel is best - but choose carefully! Your words have power, and you could just as easily cement crucial alliances or make powerful enemies depending on how you respond.

In addition to more momentous decisions that directly lead to major consequences, all the smaller choices you make will add up, from sparing your enemies to jumping the subway turnstile. These actions will affect your reputation, which is measured by four different attributes: Aggression, Benevolence, Lawfulness, and Notoriety. People will treat you differently based on how they perceive you. (Just like in real life!)

There’s no going back! Every decision brings you one step closer to the end of the story. Every email you answer, every robot you convert or conquer, every time you fall in battle – these shape your character, your reputation, your abilities, and more.

The story of Blister Blight is a whimsical-yet-dystopian sci-fi adventure, set on Ridgescar, a small island nation governed by ten powerful robots called Blights. These Blights were designed to rule with a literal iron fist, acting as a blight on the corruption that had plagued Ridgescar under fallible human leadership. From Judge Blight, who presides over the judicial system, to Bling Blight, who manages the economy, each sector of Ridgescar's infrastructure is overseen by its own robot overlord.

The final Blight to be created was Blister Blight. Blister Blight acted as a fail-safe for this system, and his job was simple: destroy all who opposed the mandate of the other Blights. He was the only robot granted the authority to destroy any other robot for any reason he deemed necessary, in the service of crushing dissent and maintaining order on Ridgescar.

It is still debated whether robots feel fear, but Blister Blight is the best argument for it. His name comes from the unique red gem that glows on his forehead: when he destroys another robot, his gem radiates heat like a blistering fire, and the robot’s very essence is consumed and assimilated into Blister’s own body. Anything useful is retained and added to his programming; anything else is discarded like dross.

The game begins a year after Blister Blight’s creation... everything changed when a human mechanic named Randy Rodriguez jumped in the way to prevent Blister from destroying his beloved repair-droid Onesimus. Blister's gem had never been used on a human before, and the result was fully unexpected: Blister assimilated Randy's very self, the two fusing into a new, mysterious reality.

This new being must now hide his identity from his fellow Blights while struggling to find a new purpose. Will he topple the regime he once fought to protect? Will he use his newfound knowledge to repair and reprogram his siblings, or will he defeat and destroy them?

The choice is yours! The Blights await their fate.
